'Light Up My Street' enabled unemployed people to get a practical introduction to enterprise culture.AiR was commissioned by Liverpool Culture Company to organise a community marketplace as part of the Transitional Event 2008/09 which included a large scale celebration event on the Liverpool waterfront with an audience of 55,000.
Marketplace
Light Up My Street offered creative programmes which built on the interest and enthusiasm for business generated by popular enterprise shows such as The Dragon's Den and The Apprentice.
Participants were supported and set up a marketplace of stalls, selling community produced food and drink, arts and crafts.
Arts in Regeneration worked in partnership with The Rialto Neighbourhood Council and produced 1,500 Superlambanana Mandala gingerbread biscuits with the help of the pupils from Princes Primary School in Toxteth, "Off My Cake" and we sold out.
