AiR is the principal participatory arts development agency for South Liverpool creating quality arts and cultural projects that make a proven difference to peoples lives. AiR offers bespoke creative projects, programmes of work designed to tackle a wide range of social issues. These include projects which tackle urban regeneration, mental health, drug prevention, creative play, environmental arts, community & social cohesion, life long learning and social enterprise that utilise the arts in dynamic ways.
AiR values and is proactive in developing working partnerships with both statutory and voluntary sector agencies to ensure the communities with whom we engage, fully benefit from transferable and sustainable models of "good practice" in supporting the arts, community arts and community development.
AiR is committed to the development and growth of community based arts activity, arts based community development and encourages and promotes equality and diversity. Therefore AiR will develop art forms appropriate to the needs of the project, the group participants and will work towards co-authorship and social enterprise.
We are committed to ensuring that the work we create is relevant, culturally attuned and accessible by recruiting to our staffing/associates and management from the communities with whom we engage.
AiR was one of twenty seven organisations in Liverpool to be awarded three year revenue funded organisation status in 2006 from Capital of Culture. AiR has utilised this funding to contribute to core costs, and to further develop bids/tenders to other neighbourhood targeted resources to support its three year strategic delivery plan and to further develop its trading capacity in developing commissioning opportunities. This web site is a documentation of the work undertaken in that three year strategy.
