Infinite Sea Of Possibilities
AiR’s partnerships with social care providers PSS, Merseycare, LCC Social Services have provided over 400 learners with the opportunity to gain QCA recognised qualifications through MOCN and the support and skills to progress to further learning opportunities. The learners are coping with a range of mental health problems from stress to post natal depression, to long term mental/emotional distress, workshops in visual arts, creative writing, animation and digital technology workshop programmes that have responded to and used the learners’ life journeys and experiences to ensure that the curriculum was immediately relevant and accessible.
Through the skills they have acquired during the workshop programme, and the high standard of work that had been produced as a result, the participants experienced a great sense of achievement and pride, which has helped to improve their confidence and self-esteem. Some learners discovered a “voice” they hadn’t realised they possessed. Many of the learners are now re-engaged and taking control of their learning and their lives. |
